7 Gadgets for seniors to stay active at home

If you’re retired, you may find that you’ve got nothing to do but just sit around at home all day. Boredom may begin to set in after a while, and you may start craving something to do. We’ve written a list of things you can do to occupy yourself, but how about finding the time to exercise at home and stay active?

We’ve covered some simple ways to exercise and why staying active is important. Here are some gadgets for you to exercise in the comfort of your own home at any time you want.

1. Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are a simple way to increase muscle strength, and can be stored just about everywhere due to their small size. They are also versatile and can be used for a variety of different forms of exercise, combining the aspects of strength training with cardio and improve your balance and flexibility.

These bands come in a set of five, and are waterproof and easy to clean. Each band has a different level of resistance.

Dumbbells can be used for strength and grip training, and can increase bone density and manage chronic pain.

4. Yoga Mat

While not exactly necessary for yoga, it’s highly recommended to have one for the purpose. Yoga maps increase grip and provide a soft surface for you to stretch on. They can also help to reduce any risks of slipping, as most yoga mats are made from durable, grip materials. Thick yoga mats are much better for yoga.
