Ways to Improve Your Immune System

The secret to good life, to never get sick again, to naturally prevent cancer (as widely agreed), is to boost your immune system. Our immune system helps us to fight against virus and disease.

When germs attack your body, you get sick. But when your immune system is strong, it can fight back. The body has the ability to recover and heal itself. Here are some ways to boost your immune system.

1)  Eat Well

Watch what you put in your mouth. Don’t smoke. Drink alcohol only in moderation.

Drink lots of water. The purpose is to keep your  body hydrated and your your throat moist. Drink one cup of water every hour. Make it convenient to do it by carrying a bottle of water with you. If you don’t like the taste of plain water, add a slice of lemon or lime. When you feel unwell, drinking lots of water is your priority.

Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eat more fish. Avoid fried food and sugared drinks. Cola Cola is a no-no.

2) Exercise

A sedentary lifestyle not good for the body. Brisk walking for 20 minutes a day is good. Set a specific time to turn this activity into a daily positive ritual.

3) Get Adequate Sleep

The lack of sleep weakens your immune system. There are cases where people die from lack of sleep due to overwork or playing games non-stop. Have sufficient sleep. When you wake up naturally without the alarm clock, this is the right amount of sleep you need. The optimum hours for most people is 8 hours. Take short power naps if you can.

4)  Be Stress-Free

Stress makes people sick. Watch your mind like a gatekeeper. Do not let any negative thoughts hang around in your mind. Shoo away these intruders. Anxiety, worries and negative thoughts are not welcome in your mind.

Practice meditation to calm your mind. Meditate for 5 minutes. Sit comfortable and listen to the music.

Surround yourself with positive people.

5)  Have Good Hygiene

Practice basic hygiene. Watch your hands with soap. When you sneeze, cover your mouth.

6) Take Cold Showers

Cold water treatments have been used for centuries to strengthen the immune system. Those who practice taking cold showers claim that they never get sick.

7) Be social

Go out with friends and have a good time.  Laughter is a good medicine. Socialising is a good cure for depression and loneliness. There are many activities that are organised by the community club in your constituency. You can also join a community gym to make friends and get healthy at the same time — you kill two birds with one stone here!

When you live a healthy lifestyle, your quality of life will no doubt improve and best of all, it is never too late to start!
